What I Ate Wednesday #111: Graduation Edition

Posted on Updated on

So wow, it’s my official first post-grad  What I Ate Wednesday. I kind of neer thought I’d be able to write that. Thank you as always to the lovely Jenn of Peas & Crayons for hosting the weekly link part. Take a visit to see more WIAW from other bloggers!

My graduation stay started with a fire in the basement in my building, but ended with lobster and chocolate fondue. So hey.

  • Breakfast: A hurried bowl of Greek yogurt with berries, cereal, and sunbutter
  • Lunch: Giant salad, scrambled egg whites, and toast with avocado
  • Dinner: a few pieces of a delicious sushi roll, (unpictured) oysters, steamed lobster with broccolini and sauteed spinach, fruit dipped in chocolate fondue, sauvignon blanc

What’s your ultimate celebration meal?

Usually I want to go to fancy places where I can get delicious salads and veggies for celebrations, but as I noted in my post today, I ended up at a kind of hole-in-the-wall Nepalese restaurant on the day of my defense. I think this was mostly because I hadn’t eaten enough during the day, and had a drink, and was just craving heavy sustenance! Your celebration dinner sounds fab. Especially the fondue. Perfect!

I just saw your WIAW post—it looks like you had an awesome dinner. I hear you on craving something hearty. By the time commencement ended and we got to the restaurant, I hadn’t eaten in almost 7 hours and was wiped out from walking around in heels (rare for me) and wearing the hot cap & gown thing.

Oh broccolini – such an under-rated vegetable 🙂
    Everything looks great 🙂
