Valentine’s Day Chocolate

Hello hello, and happy Mardis Gras! For all you brave folks vowing to give up chocolate for Lent (which inconveniently starts the day before Valentine’s), today is your chance to indulge in something special before those forty days of pious deprivation  (or whatever the appropriate term is). Rather than go wild, why not treat yourself to a piece or two of something truly fabulous? Way better than the well-intentioned waxy stuff we tend to associate with February 14th.

Yesterday, Serious Eats posted a great slideshow of places to buy chocolate in NYC. Though I have no plans to give up chocolate for Lent, I’m tempted to do a little shopping for future PMS emergencies.

The other day, I tweeted to Lauren of Foodtrainers that my taste in chocolate says a lot about my heart: dark & bitter but a little bit sweet…
