What I Ate Wednesday #66

Posted on Updated on

I feel like the number 6 has been “following” me this year. I just feel like it comes up all the time. And what do you know, it’s my 66th What I Ate Wednesday. To be realistic, it was bound to happen eventually, but still! And the number 66 will always make me think of this songThis one too.

As always, thanks to Jenn for hosting the link party. To see more WIAW from other bloggers, visit Peas & Crayons.

Monday morning involved a morning walk through the park as a commute. It was my first day at a new rotation (GI), and I found all the greenery helped calm my first-day jitters.

I also enjoyed some good food throughout the day. After almost passing out a couple weeks ago, I’ve been trying to pay more attention to keeping my energy up throughout the day. For better or worse, sometimes it takes something like that to put me back in touch with my needs. So far so good, though.

Breakfast: Steel-cut oats w/ chia, flax, dried fruit and apple served in an almost-empty PB jar

Snacks: baby carrots, dry-roasted edamame

Lunch: veggie chili with cheese, salad, an apple, tea & water

Snack: green smoothie to get me through after-work errands and chores…

Dinner: whole wheat penne with kale, roasted broccoli, roasted peppers, baked tofu and goat cheese

Snack: plain yogurt with half a banana, graham cracker and chopped dried figs

In other What I____ news, I finally got my first haircut since April. About damn time.

Do you feel like  certain numbers “follow” you? How about songs?

Yum dinner! I love goats cheese in a salad. Perfect way to add richness and creaminess 🙂

Thanks! Big hair is both a blessing and a curse—when it gets humid, it has a mind of its own! I used to try to straighten it but then I realized it’s usually better if you just work with what you’ve got.

And yes, not passing out is a very good thing : )

Your hair looks beautiful! Great job on listening to your body, and eating more food that’ll give you much needed energy!

I am so bad @ remembering to schedule hair appointments. One minute i’ll think hey i should really get my hair cut, and then a second goes by and i totally forgot!

**i just started following your blog, and absolutely love it! Great job 🙂

Haha I used to only get my hair trimmed, like, twice a year—I totally understand!
