What I Ate Wednesday #54

Posted on Updated on

So wow. This week. I’m doing a behavioral health rotation that takes me outside of the city, to a facility where the vibe is totally different from the go-go-go pace of a New York City hospital. The commute is pretty long, but it’s actually kinda nice to be surrounded by flowers and sunshine for a change.

This week’s What I Ate Wednesday features another Monday’s adventures in fueling my body for a crazy week.

Breakfast: overnight oats to-go, enjoyed on a bench while waiting for the shuttle

Lunch: A turkey sandwich with lettuce, tomato, roasted pepper & mustard on whole wheat; side salad; water  (I love that my meal credit goes so much farther here)

Snack: unpictured apple

Dinner: Leftover white bean basil burger-thing; salad; hummus & pita

Snack: smoothie made with frozen banana, skim milk, cocoa powder & PB2, topped with cereal

As always, thanks to Jenn for hosting the link party. To see what’s on other bloggers’ plates this week, visit Peas & Crayons.

How’s your week going? What’s the best thing you’ve eaten lately?

do you think a good smoothie doesn’t need protein powder? i always saw bloggers use peanut flour in smoothie/oats, do you think they can substitute protein powder?

You could definitely use protein powder. I love Whole Foods’ vanilla whey protein but there are so many other great ones out there.

Hey, I noticed your comment about meal credits, and I’m assuming that you mean your meal plan at a college… If so, do you have any tips for finding healthy meals?

Similar—I’m doing a dietetic internship at a teaching hospital, so the interns have a certain amount that we can spend in the cafeteria. Haha I definitely did the college dining hall, though. I’m happy to talk more about it. You can email me at jess.cording@gmail.com
