I will never understand…

Posted on

…how some people manage to leave the house without breakfast. Or at least how they leave without any intention of putting something in their stomach before lunch. Let’s forget for a second all that “breakfast is the most important meal of the day” stuff and just talk  about habits/wiring. As someone who was not born with the ability to be polite on an empty stomach, sometimes I feel like I’m in the minority. All you non-breakfast eaters, how are you not ready to gnaw off someone’s arm?

steel-cut oats with pear, dried apricot, flax & chia seeds and cottage cheese, topped w/ PB2 sauce

If I’m running late in the morning, it’s usually because I was eating. To save time, I make breakfast the night before or make larger batches and separate leftovers into single servings so I can just reheat, eat and go.

Do you need to eat breakfast or do you feel okay without it?

This has always confused me, too. I’ve heard people say “it’s too early for me to eat,” and I can’t wrap my head around what they mean. No matter how early I get up, breakfast of some sort is always in my plans. It always has been, even in the dorm at college.

Also, you’ve reminded me that now that I work mostly from home, I need to get some steel-cut oats.

Haha me too. I always kept instant oatmeal and fruit in my dorm room.

I kind of forgot about steel-cut oats for a few years, and now I can’t imagine why. They’re so freaking good.

Me neither! The first thing I do in the morning is breakfast and coffee, I can’t see how anyone can function with out fueling! 🙂

      Coffee is also essential!

I completely agree. Breakfast is my favorite meal! I hate being rushed in the morning so always make sure I have extra time for a decent breakfast.

Breakfast is totally worth getting up for, in my book : )

This is going to sound dramatic… but… I would die without breakfast!
