Sunday was a good day, if a bit random. Chris and I started off with brunch at the Renaissance diner with a friend. Later in the afternoon, we headed to Brooklyn to the BargeMusic Festival for Toy Piano, where his old advisor from Tufts was performing. I had a good time listening to all the different compositions—I kind of want a toy piano now.
After a few hours, we headed home and just vegged the f out. Eventually, I threw together one of my favorite dinners: butter beans with olives in tomato sauce, topped with goat cheese. We ate while watching Wet Hot American Summer, which I had forgotten was so freaking funny. I don’t think I’d seen it since it first came out. It was like seeing it for the first time. I laughed pretty much the whole way through.
Later, while catching up on some blog work and actively not doing any school work or work-work, I enjoyed the first banana softserve of the season. I added some cocoa-powder during the processing and topped it with a crumbled date ball (my last—need to make more ASAP). I’m glad it’s finally warm enough for this to taste like a good idea.
